I had learnt about the idea of critical thinking last Wednesday in the creative thinking class. I am conscious that there are many components to critical thinking, such as the necessity for students to be able to use relevant evidence, relate theory to practice, and understand information using a framework. I also gained knowledge regarding the meaning of reflection. In reflection, we must evaluate the reading and conversation process and its five stages, which include individual reading, beginning point, discussing ideas, discussing sources, and analyzing what you have learnt. I am happy and grateful to be attending this session since it has provided me with a wealth of knowledge. We returned to Wymering Manor House for a site tour on Friday and Miss Belinda gave us a brief overview of what we would be doing today. Initially, our task was to proceed upstairs to complete the tasks. I am grateful that our lecturer gave us this...

Mapping Exercise

We learned the importance of installation in our research method class on Wednesday. During the session, we discovered that the installation may have an important impact inside the building. Then, we visited a few location as part of our thesis work. We went to several places such as Gunwaf Quays,Church and University Library. We have a talk about teamwork at Friday class. I have learned that participation as well as collaboration are not the same thing after this session. Next, our lecturer gave each of us an A3 piece of paper with instructions to draw a mapping diagram by showing the connections between Wymering Manor House's interior and the outside world. Furthermore, our lecturer asked us to consider the biophilic spaces within the existing building. Woodbound(1958) claims that biophilic design is the process of incorporating nature into building design to improve residents' health and well-being. Additionally, we must consider ...

Site Visit : Wymering Manor House.

I took a visit to Victoria Park, to experience more about the task last week I closed my eyes while in the park, paying attention to my breathing and heartbeat. Then, I raise both of my hands straight for a short period of time to try to feel the breeze in the park. Meanwhile, I was able to sense the wind systems flowing in a curving way with the interior at the moment. I feel like the wind makes me feel at calm as it passes past my ear. Through these exercises, I've come to understand how breathing may help me calm and allow me to concentrate on my design work. Breath (inhale and exhale) is a natural phenomenon of human breathing. Our body's sensory nerves are intimately related to our respiratory system, which means that any abrupt or chromic stimulation will immediately affect the force or speed of our breath. W e can exhale that summarized statement using techniques of concealment and disclosure that promote connection and communication. Last Friday,...

First Week of My University Life

Image
This is the first class throughout the week and we have given a brief description of our course. First, we began creating a collage on a box of cereal we brought from home. I observed several students completing their drawings using various mediums, including marker pen, charcoal, and pencil. I drew with a pencil, followed by my classmate and I placed our items in the middle of the table. O ur lecturer requested that we sketch the items we came to school and arrange them in the middle of the table. Then, w e begin by sketching the thing using several compositions. I begin sketching after measuring the location of the thing using a pencil. Then, our professor then asked us to sketch a building's interior area. This time, they discussed one- and two-point perspective drawings with us. I discovered via this activity that each student draws from a distinct perspective and point of view. Diagram 01 Diagram 01 shows that the object that the thing we bro...
